Senior Lecturer in Labour and social security Law at the University of A Coruña (Spain). He did his doctoral thesis about the seafarers’ social protection and particularly analysing the Spanish seafarers’ social security system. Since this moment until today, he has continued studying seafarers and fishermen’s social protection issues. He has several publications and teaching experience about this issue. In the last years, he has dedicated time to the study of the social security of migrant seafarers on Norwegian ships under the European Union social security law and the European Convention on Human Rights. This research project is in the basis of a recent book entitled: Una cuestión de Derechos humanos: la protección de seguridad social de nuestros trabajadores del mar migrantes en Noruega.
